Poppies at the Tower

Jo and I went to see the ceramic poppies at the Tower of London today.  They completely surround the outside of the Tower.  There are 888,246 of them and each one represents a British fatality during the First World War.  There are so many that they overwhelm your mind, like trying to comprehend the vastness of the universe.  You can’t quite grasp that each one represents a life that was lost.

Unfortunately, my camera can’t cope with darkness, rain and shaking hands so most of my photos have come out black or very blurry but these few aren’t too bad.
